Silver Rider Wine Tasting and Silent Auction

Make plans now to attend the seventh annual Silver Rider Wine Tasting & Charity Silent Auction, scheduled to take place Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Pavilion Theater at the Tropicana Laughlin from 1 until 4 p.m. Price of admission is $20 per person in advance, or $25 at the door. The event is sponsored by the Tropicana Laughlin and KLBC TV2.

Attendees will enjoy an array of fine wines and hors d’oeuvres. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, Silver Rider expects to have over 200 high quality items available at the auction. There also will be three cash drawings: one for $500, one for $300 and another for $200. The event entry ticket will qualify as one drawing ticket for the cash drawings. Additional drawing tickets may be purchased at the event. Winners must be present to collect their prize.

Silver Rider provides door to door transportation to seniors in Laughlin, giving them access to medical appointments, pharmacies and retail shopping. The transportation is donation based. Silver Rider also provides transportation to area chemotherapy and dialysis clinics up to six days a week for its medically-challenged clients.

The funding that Silver Rider receives from the state of Nevada only pays for approximately 30 hours a week of transportation, but the demand far exceeds that number. To provide life sustaining medical transportation, Silver Rider offers, on average, 110 hours of transportation per week. Annual events help Silver Rider fill the gap in funding.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased during normal business hours at Silver Rider, 260 E. Laughlin Civic Drive, or KLBC TV2, 3100 Needles Highway (in the Laughlin Town Center). Individuals are urged to purchase their tickets now, as sales are brisk each year and the number of admissions is limited.
