Are you thinking about starting a business, but don’t know what to do?

Take the iChallenge today!

If you’re in Nevada and thinking about starting a business, or if you already have a business here and are looking for resources to make it grow, it’s time to take the 2024 iChallenge.

Sponsored by the Nevada Department of Business and Industry and the Nevada District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the 2024 iChallenge is a learning initiative in honor of National Small Business Week (April 28 to May 4, 2024).

The “i” in iChallenge means “information.” Information is power and the challenge is simple: learn about Nevada’s local, state, and federal small business support programs and use them to achieve greater success in business! Small-business doers and dreamers alike are encouraged to use one of the options below to explore the types of business support resources available in Nevada – and then to contact the appropriate program, provider, or agency. Every business success is a journey…take another step today with the iChallenge!

1. Go online to Click on “Business Resource Hub” to explore the Access to Capital Directory, Roadmap/Business Startup Guide, Resource Directory, Learning Center, and more. Use links in the directories or Roadmap/Startup Guide to go right to provider websites and contact information.

2. Go online to The SBA is the foremost federal agency offering support and funding to start or grow a small business. On the SBA homepage, use the series of topics listed across the upper part of the screen to access information and resources. For example, click “Business Guide” to find detailed information on starting and running a business. Click “Funding Programs” to learn about loans, disaster assistance and other sources of money. The page also has links to a Learning Platform and information on Federal Contracting. Click “Local Assistance” to find a local SBA partner who can help with information, counseling, mentoring, and training – or go directly to the SBA Nevada District Office website.

3. Write or call directly. If you provide the Director’s Office of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry with your contact information and tell them what you need help with, they’ll work to connect you with information or a resource partner that can assist.
