LAUGHLIN IS IN THE MIDST OF A HOUSING CRISIS
MANY NEEDY PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY SENIORS, WILL NEED NEW HOMES
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED (INDOOR WORK ONLY)
JOIN THE LAUGHLIN CONSTABLE’S OFFICE IN CREATING A NEW PROGRAM THE HOUSING SUPPORT TASK FORCE THE PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS ARE A LAPTOP COMPUTER, PATIENCE, AND COMPASSION!
Volunteer Housing Support Representatives (HSR’s) perform a variety of clerical, bookkeeping, and administrative work within an office environment involving the support of residents in need of basic housing services. Here’s some examples of the work
: Achieving the Two Big Goals
1) Filling out applications for needy clients to apply for back due rent through the CHAPS program. This will help clean up their credit record to make finding a new home easier
. 2) Helping clients find new homes that are affordable within their current income.
Basic Office Tasks
a) Operating office equipment including but not limited to computers, telephones, photocopiers, and FAX machines.
b) Operating general business software but mostly word processing and data entry
. c) Interacting by telephone and electronic mail with clients and the public. HSR’s may also interact with customers and the public in person.
d) Interacting with and assisting other county, state, federal, and non-profit agencies that work with housing, senior, veterans, and other vital social services.
e) Interacting with and processing various online and/or paper applications for various housing related programs
