College Your Way: MCC fall, spring and summer semesters are now enrolling
MOHAVE COUNTY – The fall semester enrollment window is now open at Mohave Community College and students have several ways to take classes that fit their schedule and learning style.
Currently, students seeking college degree and certificate courses have the option to enroll in spring, summer and fall courses at the same time. Shorter term eight weeklong classes begin March 20, summer semester is May 22 and fall semester classes start August 21.
Students are encouraged to enroll in the classes they want and need as soon as possible, because many classes tend to fill up quickly. Early registration also allows the college time to determine if more courses need to be added to meet demand.
The College courses are designed to offer students flexibility in their schedules and learning styles. Classes are offered on-campus, online, remotely via Zoom and many courses utilize high-tech college labs. MCC strives to keep costs low for students and the college continues to be among the most affordable in the state.
“Students tell us they appreciate all the options the College provides because it means they can fit coursework into their already busy schedules with family and work,” said James Jarman, the executive director of college communications. “And in addition to flexibility, our faculty members are experts in their fields and work closely with students thanks to smaller class sizes and many hands-on learning options.”
College employees are available to help students plan out their path from the first class to graduation. There are many complimentary services to help students succeed including 24/7 tutoring and mental health therapy.
The College has three primary academic pathways for degree and certificate students called Areas of Interest.
Under these three pathways students have access to more than 80 associate degree and professional certificate options. Students receive the skills training and education needed for rewarding careers, as well as the academic foundation to transfer their MCC associate degree credits to a university where they may enter as a junior and complete a bachelor’s degree. The college has seamless credit transfers to all the public universities in Arizona, and nearly two dozen other university partners.
MCC is the region’s premier workforce training center and partners with business, industry and government leaders throughout Arizona to ensure graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce with desired professional and industry-specific skills.
The college is a regional economic driver with an annual economic impact of more than $200 million throughout Mohave County. MCC strives to meet the growing regional needs of business and industry, and provides opportunities for small business development, as well as professional development for employees in every business sector.
For those who have not yet become college students at MCC, the first step is to fill out the free application which can be found online at Apply.Mohave.edu, or visit a campus near you for assistance.
