BCESD, CRUHSD AGAIN SEEKING
21st CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER GRANTS

BULLHEAD CITY – The two largest school district in and around Bullhead City are applying for competitive 21st Century Community Learning Center grants, administered by the Arizona Department of Education.
The Bullhead City Elementary School District grant application is for Bullhead City Middle School, Desert Valley Elementary School, Diamondback Elementary School, Fox Creek Junior High and Sunrise Elementary School.  Colorado River Union High School District will be applying for both River Valley High School and Mohave High School.
All schools, if awarded the grant, would use the funding to continue the after-school and “Flex Friday” programs that offer intervention and enrichment activities to all students.  There would also be parent classes.  Those programs, available to all parents, would be finalized depending upon the grant awards.
Additional information about the grant application process and the programs is available at the school district offices, 928-758-3961.  Cynthia Neuzil, director of curriculum and professional development at BCESD, is the contact for inquiries related to the grades K-8 applications and programs.  Darolene Brown, CRUHSD’s curriculum director, is the contact for questions about the grades 9-12 grant applications and programs.
