34TH ANNUAL CHEF’S FOOD FEST TO BE PUT ON HOLD
THIS SPECTACULAR AFFAIR HAS GROWN TO BE SOMETHING JUST THAT – ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR – AND WE WOULDN’T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY

LAUGHLIN, NV, – We at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce must confirm the postponement of the 34th Annual Chef’s Food Fest. Though we wanted more than anything to bring this event back in 2021 after the shutdown, it will not be feasible, nor can we expect our biggest supporters – the hotel casino resorts – to properly and adequately serve the 700+ attendees we are used to accommodating.

Clark County has every intention of re-opening as of June 1st however, it would be careless and inattentive to anticipate the same ambiance and fine fare to be displayed as years prior, and still follow re-opening mitigation procedures, on top of the lack of time for preparation.

The Chef’s Food Fest is well known as a leading community experience and has been a sellout each year, for over 30 years! During the evening, our guests enjoy endless courses, fine beverages, and exquisite confections prepared by some of our area’s top chefs and mixologists; it just wouldn’t be the same with the current challenges. Thus, our postponement for a later date.

“The decision to postpone was not an easy one for the staff or the board of directors. We have set a standard of excellence for over thirty years with the Chef’s Food Fest event and our guests have grown to expect food quality, a high level of competition, confidence in the judging process and they have developed faith in the benefactor. Presenting anything less would be a disappointment to the participants and the attendees.” Said Jackie Wallin, President/CEO, Laughlin Chamber of Commerce

As you may know, this event also features a live charity auction that benefits the River Fund, Inc. This sensational event is one of the Laughlin Chamber’s major fundraising events. Each year, the Laughlin Chamber makes a commitment to donate a minimum of $15,000 to the River Fund, Inc., and in some past years we have been able to donate over $20,000! We are sincerely apologetic to the River Fund, Inc. in that we will not be able to fulfill this goal yet again. We ask of all of you, if you have the opportunity or means to give back to this charitable cause, please do! You can make a donation direct to the River Fund, Inc. at 55 Civic Way or you can drop a payment off with us here at the chamber located at 1585 S. Casino Dr. in Laughlin and we will make sure your donation is delivered.

If you or your business are interested in participating in the 2022 event, you can still sign up! We will also be accepting charity auction donations as well as sponsorships. If you would like more information about this topic, please contact Michelle Crider at 702-298-2214.
